Issue: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, 2015-2016 Ford Edge, and 2016 Lincoln MKX vehicles originally sold, or currently registered in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Road salt or other contaminants may corrode the electric power steering gear motor attachment bolts.
Risk: If the bolts corrode, the steering gear motor may detach from the gear housing resulting in a loss of power steering assist, requiring a greater steering effort, especially at lower speeds, and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering gear motor bolts and apply a wax sealer. If any of the steering gear motor attachment bolts are broken or missing, a new steering gear will be installed in the vehicle. These repairs will be performed free of charge. Issue: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Ford Edge vehicles manufactured February 9, 2015, to August 12, 2016. During dealer servicing, the affected vehicles may be have been updated with incorrect Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) software. This software can cause the ESC system to lose engine torque control, and not provide any warning lamps to warn the driver if there was an ABS or ESC system malfunction. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems" and number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Risk: If the operator is not warned of an ABS or ESC malfunction and the ESC loses engine torque control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module, and update the service software, free of charge. The recall begin November 22, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16C14.

Issue: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured February 3, 2012, to March 20, 2015, and 2015 Ford Edge vehicles manufactured February 26, 2015, to February 28, 2015, and originally sold, or currently registered in, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. In the affected vehicles, snow or water containing road salt or other contaminants may corrode the electric power steering gear motor attachment bolts.
Risk: If the bolts corrode, the steering gear motor may detach from the gear housing resulting in a loss of power steering assist. Loss of power steering assist would require a higher steering effort, especially at lower speeds, which may increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will apply sealer and replace the steering gear motor bolts as required. If one or more of the steering gear motor attachment bolts are broken or missing, a new steering gear will be installed in the vehicle. These repairs will be performed free of charge. Issue: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Edge and 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture prematurely.
Risk: A ruptured front brake hose will cause a brake fluid leak, lengthening the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front brake hoses with the new hoses that have a revised braid material, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 13, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S42.

Issue: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect, and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.
Risk: A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 1, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th Quarter 2022. Issue: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The rear brake jounce hose may rupture and leak brake fluid.
Risk: A brake fluid leak can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake jounce hoses and adjust brake jounce hoses with no damage present, free of charge. Interim owner letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed September 8, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated August 2026. Issue: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.
Risk: A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. 2.0 eco boost turbo experiencing coolant loss and missfires on cold starts. Missfire had been chased by a mechanic. Parts replaced coil pack, spark plugs, spark plug boosts. Fuel system and mass airflow cleaned, pcv system changed. Problem sill a steady problem. Missfires, no heat due to coolant loss and engine overheating.
My 2015 Ford Edge Titanium (VIN provided) suffered a catastrophic engine failure at 85,475 miles requiring a Ford long block replacement. After driving only 53,000 miles on the new corporate engine component, the vehicle began shaking violently and suffered a sudden, dangerous loss of power while driving, rendering it completely inoperable (it is sitting in my driveway unable to be driven). The vehicle threw critical fault codes P050B (Cold Start Ignition Timing) and P061B (Internal Control Module Torque Calculation Performance). Diagnostics indicate a terminal internal failure of the timing chain or torque converter. This vehicle has a severe, documented history of manufacturing and safety defects, including catalyst monitor sensor failure 08/23/16, fan relay failure 11/20/18, purge valve failure 02/27/21, a total loss of brakes while driving on 02/15/22 due to a rear caliper failure, a faulty throttle body on 03/06/22, and an incorrectly installed engine wiring harness by the dealership when engine was replaced. This list is not all inclusive. I have a 1.5" binder of repairs and services dating back to purchase date which are too numerous to attach. This failure directly mirrors the engine defect patterns currently being evaluated under NHTSA Defect Petition DP26008 / ODI 11754989.
Purchased car used from CarMax late 2024. Soon after 90 day Carmax warranty expired, the check engine light can on. Errors indicated engine missing on cyl #2 and that the O2 sensor was underperforming. Also, white smoke (steam) coming out of exhaust pipe. And, coolant fluid was all of a sudden low. I determined that there was a head gasket leak. As a repair was out of the question at the estimated cost of 6000, I elected to attempt to use a chemical stop leak. The #2 Oxygen sensor was replaced in order to acquire new CA tags. To date no repair has been performed. Car will over heat on highway if very hot weather and long grade is driven.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while reversing at approximately 5 MPH, the rear-view camera became darkened. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention) and 25V544000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that the remedy was not yet available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The transmission in my 2015 Ford Edge completely broke at about 73000 miles. I heard a LOUD "clunk" sound at a red light, and the vehicle does not accelerate at all. The check engine light also came on. I had it inspected by a certified mechanic, and the entire transmission needs replacement. Apparently the particular transmission in this vehicle has an extremely high failure rate, and Ford needs to take responsibility for this incredibly expensive failure.

The contact stated that after opening the rear electronic liftgate door to retrieve items from the rear of the vehicle, the electronic liftgate door erroneously closed and struck the contact on the head, causing a minor contusion. No medical treatment was required. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced a sudden reduction of motive power, preventing the driver from accelerating normally to maintain speed with traffic flow. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start properly during initial attempts. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a cylinder 1 misfire due to coolant intrusion. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 98,019.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact recieved notice of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V544000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated that while waiting for a community get to open, and the brake pedal was depressed, the brake pedal floored and the brake warning light illuminated. The vehicle was carefully taken to the residence via back roads and parked. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the rear brake hose would be the only part replaced. The vehicle was not repaired as of yet. The manufacturer was not notified of of yet. The failure milage was approximately 83,000.
